WI was established in the UK in 1915 and will celebrate its 100th birthday next year. Rushwick in Bedwardine WI is over 60 years old and has had a large membership since its formation.
We meet at 7:30pm in Rushwick Village Hall on the first Wednesday of each month except in January when there is no meeting.
Becoming a member is an excellent way of making new friends and becoming more involved in the community. Our monthly meetings include talks and workshops on subjects designed to appeal to as wide a cross-section of members as possible as you will see from our programme below. In addition we organise visits to venues far and wide and hold coffee mornings to raise funds for various local charities such as St. Richards Hospice and Acorns.
We also have a range of groups who meet once or twice monthly including a book group, craft group and lunch groups. Anyone who comes along as a guest is made very welcome but if you would like to know more before you come please contact :-
